NOTE TO SELF...

Next year, try to listen to less Deep/Dub/Mnml Techno, virtually no Dubstep and more Funky House and Bassline House.

I mean, what harm can it do?

Hello Gutter, seasons greetings to you. I just published my top 28 of 2007, thought you might be interested - comments always welcome! Whilst writing, given your love of aforesaid deep dub techno and minimal, I wondered whether you're a fan of the likes of Dominik Eulberg, Apparat, Ellen Allien and their brethren? I might just have missed the references, but I don't recall you writing about them. It's been a year for me in part of catching up on stuff like that. Anyways, have a great one. Cheers, Colin.

  3. Ah, well there's plenty of stuff I still haven't written anything about, though I've not being paying attention to those particular artists you mention. Mind you, I've been into Ellen Allien for ages, since 'Stadkind' in 2001. Will have to check out her latest shit!

More power to the bassline and any music that makes lovely ladies shake their ass! This stuff is clearly that however after only a little exposure to some of these producers (from their Myspace pages) I have to say it doesn't sound all that exciting to me.

New? Hardly. It's got all the right elements for great party music but I can't see spending much time looking out for it as a genre or as something to spend my money on. I think the itch to hear some butt shaking House music could be satisfied by many a good DJ/night these just may happen to be the most popular at the moment.
